Having had an order for a brand new van cancelled, the team at Grosvenor Leasing decided to put it to good use by agreeing to lease it to its customer, Whistl UK Ltd, for just £1 per month so they could help a charity called Catch 77.
Catch 77 is a Devonshire-based Community Interest Company focused on increasing people’s resilience and improving wellbeing by reducing food poverty.
As an offer of extra support, Grosvenor filled the van with food for when it was delivered.
Paul MacPherson, national fleet manager at Whistl, said “On behalf of everyone at Catch 77, I would like to pass on their thanks for the donation of their new van and for the food that was inside it.
“I know many others, including my predecessor, Baz worked on this project and I felt a little humble having the privilege to hand over the van keys on everyone’s behalf but, that said, I also felt very proud to be part of a very worthy cause.”
